The Sciences

Section III

Biology

The Biology component provides extensive coverage of all topic areas required for success in the GAMSAT. As well as presenting information our unique approach tests your skills as you go along, with comprehensive inset problem sections within the core Biology study guide. These skills when acquired are then further developed on our bank of simulated questions, provided in the Section III Sample Papers. As well as aiming to give you the knowledge required, we develop the unique skills for this component throughout the teaching and reinforcement through the accompanying exercises and questions.

Section III

General Chemistry

Here we cover all of the core concepts and methods within Physical and Inorganic Chemistry. Teaching is accompanied and reinforced by our unique study guide in General Chemistry.  We will build from first principles the concepts involved and then develop these into a very specific approach for the examination itself. Often in Chemistry the difficulty is how you need to understand a topic, and the applications to the exam are very specific. From our experience we will show you the correct methods and ways of thinking, as well as the important shortcuts, which make it a much easier examination. Content will be reinforced and reviewed through problem solving and simulated GAMSAT questions.

Organic Chemistry

Learning the language and visualisation required for the exam is often one of the biggest challenges for students and we develop these skills from the beginning allowing you to assimilate the core skills required. We then build on this with the core Organic knowledge the GAMSAT requires, again from our extensive experience of the examination. This is one of the keys to Organic Chemistry understanding exactly how much detail is required and in which areas. We will guide you through each of the topic areas tested in the exam and again test these with inset problems. Teaching is accompanied and reinforced by our extensive study guide as well as over 2000 additional problems.

Physics

A key aspect of our Physics teaching is to guide you through the key mathematical skills required for the exam. Often understanding number, logs, graphs and units can easily add to your overall score. As we go through the core topic areas required we will develop these methods, as well as showing you the shortcuts to solving what can seem complex mathematical problems. We keep the mathematics as simple as possible and focus on understanding concepts and how you are asked to apply these. All areas, which have featured over the past thirteen years, are covered and you will again test yourself as you go along with inset problems. The key concepts are reinforced in the accompanying extensive study guide, in addition to over a thousand additional problems to reinforce concepts.

Mathematics For Science

Mathematics provides the basic tool set a scientist needs to analyse and interpret data. The exam places great emphasis on your ability to deal quickly and accurately with number and a range of mathematical skills. In tune with the skills required across the sciences, we will develop your understanding from basic numeracy, through logs, to dealing with complex logarithmic graphs. All the time new concepts are reinforced with practical problems to show you the application required to the examination itself. The course is accompanied by a specifically written and detailed study guide, which will equip you with an invaluable tool set moving your score in the right direction.
